this moment {no. 3}

{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savour and remember.

Playing along with soule mama.

petals & pedis {no. 21}

Yesterday Cameron and I spent the day with my Mum {which I posted about yesterday} and today I managed to upload some of the photos I took. It was a gorgeous day and there were lots of beautiful blooms about.

Once we {and by we, I mean Cameron} had enough of watering the newly potted up petunias, we went inside and gave each other pedicures…and watched a cute movie.

Rhododendrons…

Granny bonnets…love them…

The most beautiful lilac tree…

Cameron…sweet baby!

Today we all popped on down to my Aunty’s house for another one of our family ‘sit & sew’ days. I managed to get an entire Christmas block {minus Santa’s face} finished.

This year’s Sunbury Stitcher’s Kris Kringle involves a secret block swap…everyone taking part, makes a 12 and a half inch Xmas block and {here’s the secret part} somehow we all swap. I’m not sure how that part works, but at least I’ve finished mine, so that’s one less thing to stress over, come Christmas! Now, if only I could finish my teacher gifts early…

gooney is great!

Another sweet little flyer for our primary school. If you didn’t see my first post about these flyers, the idea behind them is to raise the profile of our little school and let folks know what fantastic things have been going on and what upcoming events might be happening. Always one to surprise us, our current principal has been encouraging the school community to exhibit the school values “each and every day in all that we do”. Not a bad idea… hey?

G.R.E.A.T initiatives…

About this design:
You might remember from the first flyer that I chose a cute, gelati-inspired palette, including teals, corals, bright yellows and oranges because I wanted to give the flyer some impact, while making it stay in keeping with it’s subject matter… primary aged kids. I wanted to keep it bright, but essentially gender neutral and used both a bold, funky header font {Brady Bunch Remastered} and a more bookish, typewritten, favourite of mine {American Typewriter}. This time around I added the school’s graphic device… the lovely swan and some contact info into the footer.
